I’m Jeff, the person behind Amherst Designs—a one-person furniture refinishing business in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As I look toward retirement from the Military, I’m building my next chapter around giving furniture a fresh start. I see possibility in worn finishes, dated hardware, and pieces that still have plenty of life left in them.

Each piece gets my hands-on attention, from cleaning and repairs to sanding, painting, staining, and the finishing touches. My goal is to preserve its character while creating something you’ll love having in your home.

I also share the process along the way—the transformations, the challenges, and the lessons learned in my garage workshop.

Every piece has a past. Let’s turn the page.
